God's Little Prank

There were times in life you felt like deserted and you felt like the world caved in around you. Everything became nuisance and you f*cked up. Felt like the whole live that you journeyed had no end and you couldn't sought the light. Adding to the worst part where no friends were there when they were needed the most. Heavy. Wished that you didn't in the position you were... No way to run. Wished that you had wings to take you to another place, wished you were someone else. In the end. You surrendered and turned out that everything were alright. In an instant, everything were possible. Boom! Miracle happened! Welcome to God's candid camera. You've been pwnd. :P

Dear SEO Guru

There is a small problem, when you google "Universitas Indonesia", you would not find www.ui.ac.id in the search result. From the temporary investigation, we didn't find that the domain is being banned or something like that. Is there any reason? On the positive note, the first result was penerimaan.ui.ac.id , which is an online registration for anyone who would join UI. Anyway, to those that will take UI's exam this Sunday, have a good faith. :D

Copyrighted?

There is an irony said that bloggers put tag "blog is an intellectual property" without paying attention to what its mean. No, not that I'm saying that blogger uses pirated version of the software while typing it -- it would be interesting but I'm into that. But, because what of their saying is not foolproof. How would you protect your blog content from being copied? How would you fight plagiarism? I'm not a lawyer, thus some of my arguments here not valid. Do not hesitate to comment, i.e. CMIIW. First, do you license your writings? If you don't license your writing, people can have it as a public domain. The only thing that get them not to abuse such is because of academic ethics. Still, it doesn't make your writing protected. Second, does copyright protects you? In some countries, yes. Many, maybe. Third, does it matter? .... (maybe) to be continued ~malesNulisModeOn

Monk Moniker Monzy of Sex

As seen on TV, there are so many sexual intercourse in Indonesia right now that it is so alarming to many of us. For the religious, it is said to be what of the end of the world. For the liberalist, it is said that people who not properly know what they are doing are endangered themselves with deseases such as AIDS. No, not that sex is prohibited, but both have different approach on it. For Vaticans, it is a sinful act to endorse the use of condom and that made them sinister to the liberalist. But, it is also the liberalist that clouded their mind with freedom of life. Vatican, like other Abrahamaic religions, uses different approach. To them, marriage is the divine setting to have safe sexual intercourse, not condoms. If condom were endorsed, then it would like the religion permit sexual intercourse without marriage. So, it is on a good purpose. But, sex is so powerful that many seeks to its present. For religious, it is called temptation and for the liberalist seen as the human most ...

A New Light of Kernel

After the resignation two of my kernel heroes, Con Kolivas and Hans Reiser, I've stopped following Linux kernel changelog. The thing was, I didn't think anything special would came from the kernel and yes there wasn't. If you noticed after the lost, innovations that came from outside Linux kernel was diminished. Before kernel 2.6.21, there was so many (alright, few maybe) kernel patches out there that grown with ideas such as Suspend from Disk, Xen, SD (was a rewrite from Staircase) scheduler, Reiser4, Memory Swappiness, and many tweaks. Hmm... I don't like to remember any of them now, because it's hurt to do it with the trolling and negative comments between devs. Anyway, ReiserFS still my fave until now but it is getting old and old. With the avaibility of size, new technologies around and, especially, with the impression of ReiserFS is set to be deprecated I am getting anxious of its future. Of course, officially they don't but it seems like after the impris...

WATCH OUT!

If you're aware, recently a big ISP have been shut down because it allowed its user to send spam. Because of the closing, spam been have dropped about 40~70% all around the world. But, if you aware, google also been hack recently and there are increased number of spams going in from my personal mail hosted in GMail (well, it's a mailling list anyway). There's something going on to Yahoo! as well and I think they want to attack Yahoo! also. The mailserver also been flooded with attacks recently from outside, this taught me a valuable lesson: SASL is not that save! Just like China's Great Wall, crumbled because of the bad management of the user. You can build a Citadel in your mail appliance, but it still not safe if your user not that precautious. In fact, transparent to user is no longer true to the email safety. Security is not that comfortable! They must know how to secure their login. Now, they need to know that many spammers want to fish their login and password. T...

Need A New Cell Phone

My current cell phone really made me an a**hole. It hung often and died randomly. Sometimes, it even made me unreachable for days. The battery leaked and the charger was hard to find in stores. Oh, well, 5+ years of dedication according to Moore Law is justified for an infrastructure upgrade. Okay people, I don't have a knowledge about cell phone. My Sony Ericsson Z600 is a fantastic cell phone with comfortable keypad and I hope the new one could also have the same feature. Okay, to make it fast, this is what I want from the phone: A must: 1. Comfortable keypad to answer SMS. 2. Can imported all of my contact list. 3. Clamshell. A desire: 1. I can run ssh it. (Okay, too much maybe?) 2. A camera. (No, actually I don't need it, am I?) 3. Bluetooth. 4. GPRS/3G. (I have IM2, so this is not really a wish) An added value (which I am really consider and would choose): 1. Have development platform and kit. (Can hack into it?) What would you recommend?

For 5 Sic? Se7en!

Makanya, gw bersyukur banget waktu Laksamana Sukardi menjual aset-aset BUMN. Liat, tuh, Indosat, andai kata masih dipegang sama negara...
