Companies Making Calls for Our Cultures

I'm not into NSFW contents. I don't like horror content. I don't like killing content. However, having corporate dictate our culture is something concerning. I do have issues with current trend for corporates to milk our hard-earned money. Purchasing is no longer owning. Products are designed with planned obsolence. Our works are on the cloud and being inputted into A.I. without our consent (or forced to consent).

Gosling'ed

This 26 seconds long video was titled "Lapwing - Face Tracking Add on" is a demonstration of a VRChat plugin. This plugin was used for face tracking. It was created by a French guy. The guy demonstrated the plugin with a girl character named Lapwing. The problem with this demonstration was the expressions generated were so lovely. She evokes cute girlfriend experience. Making people longing for her. Thus, online people felt lost because the short period of this video. Felt like being left lonely for a nonexistant girlfriend. Like Ryan Gosling character in Bladerunner 2049.

MAGA Plan First Phase: Tariff War

I have wondered why Warren Buffet took his shares from BYD. And my thinking is that he is an American who loves his country. The escalation of current tariff war between China and the war on Ukraine really makes many American business men in a tough position. And now, we see the tariff war stretched out to the whole world including all of the US allies. A video by Money and Marco defined it better: This war on tariff was actually a first stage of a plan, MAGA plan. Scott Bessent, the current Trump economic advisor was writing the essay about it in The Economist article. You see, the US has made Bretton Woods system  and made currency exchange based on US dollar. To help the world and to leverage US positions, the US put incentive using Marshall Plan . To help the devastated world post-WW2, the US open its market to imports while allowing the said countries  This is okay, because all the world were in low economy status. US needed them to be grown at the level where US could e...

AI VTuber

IMHO, we are at the age where human existence in the virtual world is one of the consciousness. As Jean Baudrillard said, we are now at the age of Hyperreality. I believe vtuber is a part of consciousness of a human behind. Although at this stage, it is part of a role play, a kayfabe by someone. As mentioned by Zimbardo in Lucifer Effect, roleplaying when done repeatedly becomes part of that person. The roleplaying affects the real world. The persona played by the person behind becomes the part of the person itself. That's why the character becomes someone. There is an "id, ego, and superego" that becomes the character's engine. How can AI replace that engine? This part needs to be tackled by AI first. The AI needs to be able to "hallucinate", or generate random factoids, with a consistent manner. Being someone like that, it needs to be fed with the right input. Human beings the super group of sensors is constantly build its knowledge by the input from those...

A.I. and the challenges

If you asked me about A.I., I would say that the real problem is about making it ethical. We want a bias A.I., not the straight A.I.. I mean, if you see the data, you would have non-certain privileged skin tone people "problematic" based on the cases. In a scenario where A.I. the first filter, we will have them marginalized. However, we as human have a bias for working towards equality. We boost certain values to make the playing field more equal for all. Well, scientists, be it a STEM and social, it's our job together to shape the best algorithm for A.I. and build that Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) towards equality. A.I. should be a problem of culture as we have been integrating cyber reality into our society. Technology is no longer a problem of math and algorithm, it's also lives and consciousness for many people. As Baudrillard once said, we are now living in a Hyperreality. Let's build our hyperreality on equality.

Quitting The Rat Race (Take Me To The Beach -- Imagine Dragons x Ado)

Imagine Dragons made many versions of their new song "Take Me to The Beach". They collab with other artists in different languages based on the collabing artist. The one that get off the ground is the collab with Ado . Some people said the collab probably because of Party Like a Rockstar Podcast showed Ado performance to Jim Runge. With the advent of vtubing industry, Japanese entertainment industry now on the projection of rising up again. Previously, their Copyright law and the CD/DVD/Blueray industry made them lazy. They rather stuck to their domestic market and never considered to cater to international market. That was when K-Pop took over the reign from the Japanese. Don't get me wrong. I like Japanese music. Most of us in the 90s were anime lover. Myself have a favorite anime, the original Macross. I love the show and their takes on war and culture. What an eye opening anime. Macross really shown a different side of imperialism. You don't conquer your enemie...

WE PRAY - Coldplay, Elyanna, Little Simz, Burna Boy, TINI

The song is about how we fight for the better world and winning the battle inside of our mind. The most respect for me is coming from a line: ... And so we pray we'll be singing Baraye... Baraye is a song about women's right. No, it's a song about extreme feminism. It's a song about to view a women as humane as a man. I didn't know the song nor the history behind it. Reading through the Internet I was fascinated by it. It's amazing how Coldplay can attract the world to the issue just by that one line. This makes me respect Coldplay more.

The Future of Renewable Energy Cars (Why I Agree With Toyota)

Scotty Kilmer, a car mechanic YouTube persona, made a video about Toyota made a statement that they'd rather paying the carbon credit rather than creating EV. Scotty reasoned that the reason behind EV was because of these: The EV car is low on availability. Resalable is plummeting in US. People can't sell their car, or the car is way cheaper. The EV is expensive to fix, but the mechanics are less and less being paid. First of all, I want to call the problem with EV: our infrastructure is not ready for mass adoption. We need to have more sustainable electric plants. For my country, Indonesia, the electric plants are using coals which is not sustainable nor green. Source of EV Coal Power, Traffic, Waste Burning Create Toxic Smog in Jakarta (voanews.com) . As a person living in this city, I can attest to this. At the time, I always getting headache after coming from the office. The government blame the pollution to the ICE cars . But, hey, we have car-free days, but nothing happ...

Linkin Park - Lost, the fan's music video

A.I. is a controversial topic currently in the world of artistry. Most of the artists are adamant to recognize the said technique as a valid art. The most argument from them is that A.I. is using other's art to generate art. The said usage may infringe copyrighted art. Linkin Park uses A.I. in their official MV. They used kaiber.ai to generate the video animation. Based on the product description, kaiber.ai is using the A.I. to generate animation-style.  The A.I. seems using stable diffusion to generate the sequence of images. That's why the animation is not consistent. Corridor Digital discussed this as the A.I. is designed to create image not a series of images. The noises randomly created by A.I. made each picture differ from each other. That's why the animation may jumpy and flickered.  In other video, that may be not ideal, but this MV is talking about memories. Memories are fuzzy. They sometimes play the incoherent series of imaginations. Sometimes, it would pres...

A Witch Hunt Gone Wrong

pikamee... pic.twitter.com/NIBfx59D1x — Banned Vtuber Memes (@bannedvtmemes) February 21, 2023 Pikamee, a vtuber was deciding to stop her character for vtubing in 31st March . Her last stream was playing Hogwarts Legacy. This game was gaining notoriety because the J.K. Rowling, a creator of Harry Potter, was making a transphobic statement . Because of this statement, many twittards witch hunting many content creators who playing Hogwarts Legacy. Pikamee and her company said that the graduation was planned. She had taken a one-month break before making the decision. However, this graduation made her fans enraged. Her fans understand that she was a bullying victim in the past when she was still a child in school. They don't believe that statement, instead they know this is because of the witch hunt. Some of the fans fight back. The whole trans community is now being accused of a bully who don't want to get bullied back. A bully who thinks oneself as a victim. *Sigh* I love Jes...

Songs Sung by VTuber that I Like to Listen

I, like other Indonesian normies who fallen to the rabbit hole, was brought to the scenes by Kobo Kanaeru. That's why my song selection below is mostly for Hololive and Indonesian. I haven't falling deep enough. The list is not charting or something, just something that remember. #1 Cynical Night Plan - Pavolia Reine and Tokoyomi Towa This song was engineered by Redshift. Redshift have built portfolio since the Vocaloid era. In VTuber era, it seems they becomes the go to for Reine's songs.  By default, I prefer natural vocal. However, the stylized vocal by Towa and Reine engineered by Redshift really doing well with my ears. It creates amazing sound experience for me. What I like from Redshift is that the space is enough in every EDM music they made. This really makes me who not really into EDM can listen this song without tiring my ears. I like Towa deep voice, not gonna lie. Reine did a good service for her teammate to give the best part for Towa. Reine herself also did a...

Suisei on First Take

A Vtuber by the name Hoshimachi Suisei made a breakthrough by singing in First Take. She was the first Vtuber featured on a "normal" music channel. I don't know about First Take, thought.  The First Take is apparently a music channel respected by the Japanese music industry.  According to its description, artist featured on the music channel will be singing live without filter. It seems this is similar to the respectable NPR's Tiny Desk Concert. A raw, unadulterated, performance. Some people find it weird with an anime character singing without showing the real artist face. I don't think this is weird. Do you remember Gorillaz ? They did it back then. As a virtual band, they already in the music scene with their own avatar. That's why, I don't think the artist goes by an anime avatar known as Hoshimachi Suisei is weird. I mean art is weird, so be it! There is nothing wrong with going through the vtubing route. Regarding the performance, I do like it. If I...

Overly Produced Voice

Rick Beato made a point that the use autotune and overly produced voice perfect will enable AI to produce songs that general public will not bother to care. The result of overly produced voice is that the singing becomes robotic and lost all of the nuances. Computer in the long term will be able to create that voice. The great question from AI produced songs will be the author of the songs. I can already imagine this will be belong to the record company. Oh, wow, 100% pure industrialized songs. Rick point this overly produced voice are the works of autotune. The use of autotune from Cher's '98 Believe song and now 2023 commonly used on all songs. People nowadays search for perfection on production. There are two things that made me think why the use of autotune a common way to produce music. The first thing I can think of is the death of CD and the rise of digital stream. The second is music nowadays is used for background. Let me talk about the first. CD is the last digital ...
