Anya Melfissa - Phony [cover]
Anya Melfissa's Phony is the best version for me. I don't like the original which is a vocaloid song. My ears still can't get used to the uncanny way the song expressed by the vocaloid mixer.
However, Anya Melfissa really made this song enjoyable for me. Here's the reason:
- Her nasal voice makes an uncanny voice which really blends well with the music. However, the overall sound itself feels natural for my ear.
- Her way of singing feels sinical and self-deprecating. Really made me feel the intention of the song. I do read the lyric translation and I feel her voice really express this one.
Yes, I do listen to all the other covers including Suisei's version. My vote goes to Anya for the best Phony cover.
