A House in A Sand

Some people said to me: "Why do you so persistent with your open source thing? Are you an open source zealot? Are you anti-establishment?"

It's not just about legality. It's not just about my ability to get a legal copy of prop. softwares. It's about the future!

How many people bloated with wrong picture of the great ideality of making money. Some feels confident about their original operating system. Some people feels doesn't need to move to open softwares just because many company use prop. s/w.

Define stability, sustainability, and wealth! You'll find out that we just playing as a slave.

An original you said? U have original Windows XP(tm) but how about Office XP(tm) Adobe(r) CS 2(tm)? Stripped from their originals!

WinXP only costs 500.000 rupiah, but the later costs more than a million! Evenmore, many prop. s/w running with the cost more than a buck.

So, what do you expect running from that? Have a sin and get over with it?

This kind of mentality will lead us only into slavery. NEVER WILL US GET OVER IT.

Are you satisfied with this kind of life? Well, if you notice, our country is degrading into deeper troubles. So, it's a matter of time until this country collapse and we loose everything.

Open source softwares is not what I want. But, it is a tool to climb the deep hole we're in.

hehehe, btw you do realize that open source is not free. I could make an open source system but charge it for distribution.

So, GNU GPL is probably what u had in mind

  2. Of course! What would you expect from free softwares? We are a developer, we need money also...:)

But, what I think is either Free or Open Source projects, can bring people to a way of thinking where creativity leads into invention. That's the point that I want to say. It's time for us to become also a producer, not just plain M$ consumers.

I agree about the idea charge the open source with money (Trolltech does that). But, many developer, like Canonical, are considering free softwares (but not free services)?

GNU's GPL can be used if the later are your consideration. But, please don't use Glodok's GPL. ;P
